Awesome Detailer. I had my Tesla model Y ceramic coated with some high end PPF film installed on the front bumper and mirrors. (PPF) FAQs
Some of the most common vinyl wrap and PPF questions our customers ask. Don't see your question? Just give us a call!
This depends on a few different variables:
• Is the vehicle stored outside and constatly exposed to the sun?
• Is the vehicle daily driven and exposed to fallout on a regular basis?
• Is the vehicle ceramic coated? This provides added protection against UV and chemical contamination.
• What climate is the vehicle stored or used in? For example, prairie provinces have significantly cooler winters than Victoria which will impact the expected lifespan of the wrap.
• Do you wash the vehicle regularly? If so, what chemicals and tools are used? We only recommend tools and chemicals that specify they are safe for use on vinyl wraps.
There are typically seperate warranties on the vinyl and the labor. At SHC Super Shop we warranty vinyl wraps against installaton defects like peeling for 3 years. Material warranties depend on the vinyl manufacturer please contact us to confirm. Typically manufacturers warranty their vinyl for between 3 and 7 years.
Similar to vinyl wraps a PPF installs lifespan depends on a few factors, but generally the manufacturers we use SunTek state their products lifespan between 10 and 12 years.
At SHC Super Shop we warranty our labor on all PPF against installation related defects for 3 years.
It depends on your goals behind applying the vinyl wrap or PPF. Vinyl wraps allow for more customization and can even be prined on, while PPF is significantly thicker (more durable) and more difficult to install.
Yup! We can apply vinyl wraps to boats, jet skis, motorcycles, ATVs, and more.
Long story short - it depends on the complexity and size of the vehicle. As a rule of thumb we try to quote one week, but may finish sooner than that if the vehicle is smaller or less complex. For example, wrapping a sedan versus a compact.
Yes we do! If your vehicle is being wrapped or having PPF installed you can borrow one of our courtesy cars for the duration of the install.
